Gerontologists
(Scientists who study the ageing process) agree that, ageing is an irreversible
process. Notable signs of old age include loss of memory, failing vision,
reduced hearing capacity and general body weakness. As with humans, this
present world is already showing signs of “old age”.
With the
absurdities that have become the order of the day, the world seems to have gone
senile.
These are
the days that the Bible aptly describes as “Latter Day/time”. One of the things
that Christ revealed as signs of the last days is that, there will be such a
high level of evil and the negative pressure that the love of many people
towards God and others will become cold. The result of this is a massive
defection from sound and biblical Christianity to profanity and Satan-inspired
modes of worship. It is such a subtle trend that many who have fallen into this
trap are unaware of its jeopardy. They hva e continued to wallow in deception
and delusion.
Today,
Churches may be filled with membership; there may be increase in Christian
activities and more acknowledgement of the faith, but these have not translated
to better commitment to the truth.
Instead,
there is a high level of hypocrisy, hardness of hearts and rejection of the
cardinal doctrines of the scripture. In the midst of these, true believers are
expected to strengthen their grip on Godliness and resolve to earnestly contend
for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
As you step
out each new day, it will be needful to reflect on your position in Christ and
ensure that, you are safe from being swept away to depart from the faith. Many
have gone. More than ever, we need prayer, watchfulness, discernment and a
courageous commitment to Bible doctrines in order to survive the pressure s and
the apostasy of these latter times.
Many that
started their Christian races as vibrant ambassadors of Christ have been swept
under carpet by the latter day love of pleasures, love of life and money. Many
are deceptively professing themselves as Christians while moving down the slope
into hell. The world is sinking many giants in the Lord and many are daily
missing their focuses of heaven in the pursuit of corruptible treasures of the
world. Bibles have been exchanged for money by many preachers of God’s words.
Many Christians are getting deceived and perverted by the tribulations and
trials devil is bringing on their ways.
Nations are
at war against one another. Government are legislatively imprisoning the
biblical convictions and the believers. Pestilence over land and pains
radiating on faces of world citizens. Will you with the world perish?
Why not
avail yourself this privilege of coming back to God for a cleansing once again
and coming to God in perfect submission and obedience to His wills, words and
ways?
The coming
of the Jesus is imminent as signs all over the universe testify.
Do no
perish with the world.
